Michael Healy 6th year music student has once again come out on top at the All-Ireland Fleadh 2024. He won gold on Accordion and bronze in Melodeon u18 competitions.
This is Michael’s 6th All-Ireland medal and is on his way to senior competitions next. Over the summer he also completed his diploma exams on box and whistle and will begin teaching this weekend.
Principal Stella Loughnane said "we are very proud of Michael, he follows in the footsteps of many accomplished and talented musicians who have energised our halls with their amazing melodies. The next generation of trad players are in excellent company with Michael there to guide them along".
Music teacher and proud mentor Ms Hughes noted, "Michael is a credit to himself and his family. He's a perfect role model for any younger students wishing to aspire and showcase their talents outside of the school.
