The first meeting of the Killarney Community College Fishing Club took place last Wednesday 22nd Sept. We had nine anglers in attendance keen to learn the skills of angling.
Jack Ryan Brain took the session ably supported by Alannah O' Riordan. They demonstrated fly casting and spinning techniques.
The club will meet on Wednesdays after school at 1.15pm. New members welcome.
Mr. Gallagher has been in contact with the Inland Fisheries Board and they are very interested in helping us develop the club. Aideen Kane their Education Coordinator is going to meet us in October and hopefully we will take to the waters wild for an evenings fishing.
Finally congratulations to Jack on winning the All Ireland Junior Angler of the Year on Saturday. He won with four fine trout caught in very difficult conditions on Lough Leane.
Tight lines to all our anglers.
