29th September 2019 - European Day of Languages
Killarney Community College celebrated European day of languages on the 26th September 2019 with a series of events. Representatives from each European country from the school gave a greeting in their mother tongue. All classes participated in the European Quiz. Students were able to taste food from different European countries at lunch time. Winners of the quiz are Karolina, Jessica and Natalia in Leaving Cert. Well done girls!
25th September 2019 - Sports News
Today, our Senior Ladies Football Team had a comprehensive victory over Milstreet Community College winning 6-11 to 2-7 in the opening round of the Munster Championship. While Milstreet battled hard and it was a very competitive game with great scores from both sides, we pulled away in the later part of the 2nd half with an outstanding team display. Stand out players on the day were Aoibhin Gleeson in 1st Year with a personal tally of 3-3 at full forward and Ciara Kearney centre forward who contributes 1-5. Well done!!!

Today, our three Killarney secondary schools came together to highlight their concerns about climate change and came together to form the word NOW urging world leaders to take action immediately in relation to climate change.
19 September 2019 - Strickeen Mountain Climb
What an amazing day our 5th year students had! They climbed Strickeen mountain in beautiful sunshine as a wellbeing activity at the start of their school year. The trip was organised by their year head Mr. D. O'Sullivan and ably assisted by Ms. Kissane, Ms. O'Leary, Mr. A. O'Sullivan and Ms. Mulligan.

Today, TY students with Ms. K. McCarthy & Ms. D. O'Sullivan had the most fantastic day at Deerpark Pitch & Putt. Extreme skills were displayed by one of our students Artur who is off a very impressive handicap of 7 in Barcelona! His sheer class and enthusiasm for the sport urged all of us amateurs to participate and to have alot of FUN! Thanks to Paula and Ciaran for looking after us so well. Next weeks Tuesday activity is Film Making with Mieke Vermechelen.
13 September 2019 - KCC goes green.
Students showed their support fo the Kerry team by wearing their Kerry colours to school today. Brian Kelliher from the student council presents a prize to the best dressed Kerry supporter to Ethan Brennan in second year. Congratulations Ethan. Well done to Oisin Malone Walker and Tamika Heaphy who won the draw for two All Ireland Final tickets today.
We in KCC are very proud of our very own Kiril Healy 5th Year Music Student who has won the coveted Mike Kenny Musician of the year 2019 award.
11 September 2019 - Auditions began today for our Chirstmas panto "Beauty and the Beast".
Mr. Shane Enright (Bank of Ireland) gave a very informative talk about understanding your relationship with money to our 3rd year students. They also learned how to manage their money in their future, along with how to save in the future.
Tuesday 3rd September 2019 TY NEWS
Last week saw the beginning of TY Activity Tuesday in the school! It was a wonderful day of fun and laughter while exploring our majestic national park. We began with a tour of the exhibition area in Killarney House and Gardens which was truly magnificent. The students got the chance to explore and discover the beautiful diverse landscape of Killarney National Park. The 15 rooms to discover were highly entertaining and informative for the students. The latter part of the day we spent walking to Ross Castle and then back to the school. A great day of bonding for the students as the TY year has kicked off....
